Developing Your Awakening Experience
Awakening is an intentional time of focusing on God. We give space to observe what He's doing in our busy lives. Awakening is a time of stopping normal and good things in order to give priority and focus for a short time to God to direct our lives. Often developing a plan of special emphasis on prayer, fasting, and/or abstaining is helpful to guide this time.
Below you'll find a few simple questions to help you develop your personal Awakening Experience as well as an acronym for prayer that may be helpful as we work towards developing a habit of prayer in our lives.
Join us Wednesday evenings throughout January for prayer and worship starting at 6pm in the Church Sanctuary.

Prayer
How do I want to grow in prayer or develop a habit of prayer these next 21 days?

Fasting
How could I participate in fasting?

Abstaining
Is there anything God might be asking me to abstain from?
Let's P.R.A.Y.

Pause
Set a timer for 1-10 min and simply be still. Sit quietly with God and make yourself aware and available to His presence.

Rejoice
Where do you see God's goodness? Be practical, be simple, and be honest. Where is God good? From little to big what can you be thankful for?

Ask
6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

Yield
Pray this simple prayer a few times. As you pray intentionally shift control to God. Yield, or submit, yourself to God's leadership and authority.

"Lord, may your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."
